Ahoy, matey!

Yo Ho Ho! As mentioned during my last journal entry, i have interviewed a total of 10 Pirates,(interviewee) of the 10 pirates , 5 were strangers that i've just met.
The following are the questions that i've asked and then demanded for an answer , hohoho!

1. Do you like the Ocean?

2. Do you often use plastic based object in your daily life?
3. Do you know where the plastic rubbish go when they were thrown?
4. After understanding what is garbage patch, are you inspired to change your plastic using in your daily life?
5. Will you encourage people to lesser the use of plastic in their daily life?
6. Knowing the Issue in the Ocean, are you feeling that you are partially responsible for the destruction?

The following are my fellow pirates valuable insights on my treasure questions.

1.Do you like the Ocean?

This question managed to make the little fella think about the things they find valuable in the ocean. Majority of my little pirates said that they love the ocean, they love the view, the sound , and the very fact that ocean is the beginning of all lives. But some had mixed feelings about the ocean, they love the ocean but fear to be in it because of the pollution and harmful chemicals in it.

2.Do you often use plastic based object in your daily life?

Everyone uses plastic based object in their daily life, but the amount of plastic used differs.
Some little pirates are already aware of the harmful effect of plastic is to the environment, and hence are already making their small conscious effort in limiting the amount of plastic used. However, there are some annoying pirates that just dont care even thou they are aware of the problem pastic causes to the environment. They feel that it wouldn't make a difference as others will still use plastic anyways.

On the contrary, some feel that no matter how big or how small one action can be, the actions would all be summed up to something big, and thus causing a small change in the world.

3.Do you know where the plastic rubbish go when they were thrown?

This question made most of the pirate think and ponder for awhile, majority of them had little clue on where the rubbish goes after they are disposed. From their answers, It is likely because the little pirates never witness a landfill before or are they even interested in how rubbish are disposed as they are more concerned about their daily lives.

4.After understanding what is garbage patch, are you inspired to change your plastic using in your daily life?

Many are shock upon hearing the garbage patch in the ocean. Most of them never heard of this term, and had to google the image to find out how it looks like. Some of them decided to play their small part in helping to reduce plastic waste by committing to reducing plastic consumption on a daily basis.

5.Will you encourage people to lesser the use of plastic in their daily life?

This is very heartening to hear because some shared that they would spread the world and get their surrounding friends to reduce plastic consumption. However there are other little fellas that feel that it wouldn't make a difference thus would not make any changes to their usual lifestyle and that is when i hope that my project would help make a difference HO ho ho!

6. Knowing the Issue in the Ocean, are you feeling that you are partially responsible for the destruction?

Many felt that they are responsible for the litters in the ocean despite the fact they they didn't litter directly in the ocean. They felt responsible on behalf of the human race, thus majority are becoming aware of the problem and task felt the need to spread this awareness which is very heartening to hear.

With all these responses from my little fellas, its time for me to put in these responses in my final year project , so stay tune to what's gonna happen on my next update!

Avast yee!!

All hands ahoy!
